Samsung UNC9000 LED | UN55C9000 & UN46C9000 | C9000 LED TV

The Samsung UNC9000 LED series was announced at CES 2010, and looks like it will be shipping around the summer months as the new flagship HDTV from Samsung’s ever growing fleet of high quality televisions. It will be available in two sizes with the 46″ Samsung UN46C9000 and the 55″ Samsung UN55C9000 models. MSRP prices are yet to be released, but by the specifications and advanced technology and quality, expect them to be fetching quite a pretty penny.

A bunch of cool and innovative new features are creating buzz around the models. Exclusively for the flagship Samsung UNC9000 LED series are a new color touch-screen wifi connected remote as well as a new design principle that places components right in the stand to enable the UN46C9000 and UN55C9000 to be the thinnest LEDs to be released at only .3 of an inch thick!

Touch Screen remote with Wi-Fi

The new color touch screen remote with infrared and Wi-Fi connectivity is one of the coolest new features of the 2010 Samsung UN-C9000 HDTV series. You can browse multimedia, music and video from computers and DLNA connected devices throughout your home, control the televisions functions and internet features visually on the remote and can even watch video playback simultaneously on the remote so you don’t miss a thing on those trips to the washroom.

Insanely thin design & appearance

An impressive 0.3″ depth is achieved with the beautiful and innovative design. They have placed the tuner and other electronics right into the base of the stand to allow for this razor sharp panel. The base will also be able to transform into a wall mount bracket for those that want to wall-mount their UNC9000.

Picture quality isn’t compromised surprisingly, and by perfecting their edge-lit led backlighting, expect Samsung to make the UNC9000 LED LCD one of the most brilliant and realistic visual experiences available with black level performance, contrast, color accuracy and screen uniformity that rivals all of the most expensive displays this year.

3D capability & 2D conversion chip

A huge trend this year, Samsung’s UN46C9000 and UN55C9000 will both be 3D HDTVS. Also announced is 2D to 3D conversion processing capable of real-time up conversion of normal content into 3D effects. Still no word on if the required accessory glasses will be included with the C9000 but I would expect so.

Samsung Apps & Wi-Fi internet connectivity

Much like you would find with an iPhone and iTunes, Samsung’s UNC9000 LED TV models are planned to launch alongside an application store. There will be free, paid and subscription applications and a developer kit that will allow software and gadgets to be made and downloaded onto your HDTV.

Internet TV will be expanded from last year’s models and streaming content from sources like youtube and many providers along with widgets that allow access to things like facebook and twitter messaging should find its way into the 46C9000 and 55C9000 models.

Wi-Fi and ethernet ready straight out of the box, the C9000 LED TV will take advantage of an ever expanding list of content providers AND alongside the new Samsung Apps store will make the UN-C9000 LED LCD incredibly future proof and more like a computer/television hybrid than a bland old HDTV!
